Neighbor Update

So you know Todd and I are social people!  So last Friday we went for a drive to meet our neighbors.  Well we ended up finding out more about Stan the Man that lives down the road.  Todd actually met him about a month ago, him and his boys were out shooting it and it was like flies on shit....Todd was like OMG someone else that likes to shoot, and he went right over!

So we went down to visit Stan, as we pull into his lot of land that has 800 sq foot log cabin on it, we walk right into the door that is open.  Todd yells "hey Stan you here."  Stan replies "yep upstairs watching a movie....come on in.."  Pretty sure he didn't even know who was walking in his house!   So I ask Stan, "what do you do...."  He hands me a brochure, HOLY CRAP that is when my mouth dropped to the ground, no he isn't a male stripper...he builds log cabins.  The one on the front of the brochure was a 27,000 square foot hunting lodge in New York state, on a lake with private docks to the rooms.  It was AMAZING.....  That is where we determined Stan is the MAN!   WOW...he got divorced a couple years ago, wife took the $400K house, so he went and got him 40 acres and built him a man cave.  It has no carpet, but it does have a meat hook to hang his fresh kill right in the living room to skin it and cut it up.  He has hunted and fished EVERYWHERE....his walls are covered in very nice mounts.   Needless to say, Todd has found a friend!  He is very nice and it's so enjoyable to talk to him...and he is only a mile away.

Todd and him talked on the road the other day.....he knows everyone!  Todd mentioned that when he retired he would like to get his guide license and do guided hunts.  Stan said "oh you don't have to get a license, my friend owns a guide service, you can work for him whenever you want....."   Todd mentioned we want to build the barn out back, Stan says "oh yea we can use the boom lift to put it all together, just let me know when you want to do it..."  WOW
