Well our weekend was wonderful!!   We left town around 2pm and got up to Albany around 3:30 or so.  Stopped in Laramie to get some flies for our fishing adventure!  Checked into the lodge and went for a drive.  It is BEAUTIFUL, raining and the roads were slick, but beautiful!!  We saw a cow elk with her baby, a bull moose and a cow moose, and a few mule deer!  Neither Todd nor I had ever seen a moose in the wild, so it was definitely the highlight of our day!!!   We found a lake called Rob Roy and then Lake Owen.  When we pulled up to Lake Owen this guy comes walking to his truck with a trout about 14 inches long!!  Todd looked at me and said this is where we are coming tomorrow!!!

We went back to the lodge and had dinner.  The lodge was made of all pine, the tables, bar stools the bar....everything!  It was very pretty.  After we stuffed ourselves we went back to the room and called it an early night.

The next morning we were up and on our way to catch the big fish!  HUM, well.....it was a little slow to say the least!!  We tried flies, spinners, salmon eggs, shrimp eggs, powerbait, night crawlers, the top of the water, the bottom of the lake, out far, in close to the bank, walking around most of the lake to different spots.....EVERYONE around us was catching them, what were we doing wrong?  Well we decided we would take a break and go down to the lodge for a little bit.  We rehydrated and got some more hydration brew and some rocky mountain oysters, then went back up to the lake!   That must have been it, we must have been trying to hard!  We caught about 12 fish in around 3 hours!!   Their bellies were very white, so I was worried they would be white meat fish, UK, but when we filleted them, they were orange and bright pink, beautiful!!!!  We were starving at this point, so we got to the lodge around 10:30 and went to grab something to eat.....THEY WERE CLOSED!!!   So, needless to say the next morning we were starving!!

Sunday we got up and went to a mom and pop diner in Laramie and had a huge breakfast, then came home, cleaned up, unpacked did laundry and relaxed!  A great weekend that my husband planned, he did a great job!
